Elder Scrolls 6 Weapons

Degradation

-The quality of weapons should degrade after a while to prevent you from using your best weapon all the time.

-You shouldn’t be able to repair them in your inventory but instead make you travel to a city to sharpen or fix them.

-Using your weapons on clothed or light armour enemies would damage them a bit, heavy armour target even more, blocking even more, hitting stuff like trees and rocks the most.

Unique Weapons

-Each unique weapon should look somewhat unique compared to its normal counterpart and the really cool unique weapons should be worthwhile to use.

-Make very good unique weapons very hard to get so you can justify making them very good.

Enchantments

-You should have the option whether or not the enchantment on a weapon physically shows up because some people do not like the glow effect

-You should be able to pick between the old glow effect and an actual elemental effect like sparks coming off your weapon or actual fire

Materials

-When smithing each material should have pros and cons, steel would be much more nimble than Daedric metal but also have less damage. Each one should also be offered in a heavier or lighter version of itself. (Exp: Heavy Steel Short Sword)

Smithing Main Materials

-Bone

-Bronze

-Daedric Metal

-Damascus Steel

-Dragon Bone

-Dwarven Metal

-Ebony Metal

-Elven Metal

-Forsworn

-Glass

-Gold

-Iron

-Obsidian

-Orcish

-Silver

-Stahlrim

-Steel

-Stone

Material Effects

-The different materials should have their own special effects to make them worthwhile, they would not show up when making weapons but they would be there in the background. For example these are some ideas.

-Bone (More limb damage)

-Bronze (Better shock enchantments)

-Daedric Metal (Better fire enchantments)

-Damascus Steel (Enhanced enchantments)

-Dragon Bone (Better damage against animals)

-Dwarven Metal (Better damage in caves)

-Ebony Metal (Better sneak damage)

-Elven Metal (Better frost enchantments)

-Falmer Material (Better damage in caves)

-Forsworn (Faster dual wield speed and better damage)

-Glass (Massive bleed damage upon breaking)

-Gold (More money off of kills)

-Iron (Better poison damage and effects)

-Obsidian (Massive bleed damage upon breaking and better fire enchantments)

-Orcish (More power attack damage)

-Silver (More damage to undead)

-Stahlrim (Better frost enchantments)

-Steel (More damage the higher your armour rating)

-Stone (More damage the lower your armour rating)

Customizations

-Each option should look at least somewhat different between different materials. Also you should be able to change the finish of the blade, colour or metal of the pommel and cross guard, colour or wood/bone of the handle. Also you should be able to change more intricate things of your weapon such as gems, obsidian or a pattern of gems where you want, engravings, stuff along that line. Each option should change how the weapons preforms, short blade may be faster to swing but less damage, curved blade may do more damage but degrade faster
