A question about Legendary edition.

Post » Sat Jul 16, 2016 1:13 am

Hello.

I never got it for the reason I bought the game and the dlcs separately. I was wondering if the Legendary edition has the 3 dlcs fully integrated in the game or they are just the same esp I have already got in my vanilla edition.

I know my PC Legendary has one disc... I want to say my 360 was the same 2 disc's though.

ok, but in the pc version can you exclude the 3 dlcs if you want to play only the vanilla game?

As far as I know, it's exactly the same as buying the base game and DLC separetely.

They are not merged into one .esm. You will still have the same Skyrim.esm, Dawnguard.esm, HearthFires.esm and Dragonborn.esm in your Data folder.

Yep, there's absolutely no difference between the Legendary Edition and buying DLCs separately.

There are many reasons not to merge the plugins, particulary for modders it would cause excess headache.

Frankly I can't picture a single reason why the ESMs should be merged.

Raising the limit by 3 slots? Meh. Also, I don't think Beth cares about how many mods users are allowed to install.

The base game without the DLC's has two esm's. Skyrim.esm and Update.esm. I they were at all concerned about the 254 limit, they'd have merged those a long time ago.

Let's hope they don't do that though. A lot of mods (including the very popular Campfire/Frostfall/Last Seed trilogy) rely on record injection into Update.esm to function, so merging the official patch into Skyrim.esm would really screw things up, requiring major rewrites to many mods.

Considering they've advertised most mods mods become compatible with SSE by simply opening and saving the mod in the new CK, merging any official esm together is very unlikely to happen.
