Hi guys! As my title implies I have an issue with the side quest involving giving Ysolda a mammoth tusk. I have no problem starting the quest, all I have left to do is give her the mammoth tusk, This is where the issue arises, I have like eight mammoth tusks in my inventory. When I approach her to hand over the tusk, she simply won't take one from me? I go up and talk to her but am left with only 2 speech options which don't result in me giving her the mammoth tusk. I'm playing on PC and have quite a few mods active, but I'm pretty confident this is just a typical in game glitch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I just want to clear all my miscellaneous quests out of the way, thanks!!

You never know what can happen in-game when using mods, I too are using mods and have never encounter any problem with Ysolda's misc quest since day one even I had a couple of Mammoth Tusk in my inventory.

So stating that this is a game glitch doesn't have merit just becuase of using a few mods. How do you know that? Are those mods you're using cleaned?

But to try to help you with your issue you always need to post your loadorder, otherwise the people here cannot help you. Have you tried to go back to an earlier save, just to see if you can finish the quest?

dump all of your tusks and add one via the console and see if she will accept it. (help tusk) should give you its id.

Some mods seem to change the form id of certain items in such a way that they won't be accepted when they should be. For example I just had to find 5 nightshade as part of one of Viljas questlines and couldn't be bothered to actually find them (have done the quest so many times) so I added them via console but she wouldn't accept them. I went and found them manually and she did accept them even though they where the same as the ones I added via the console (even got added to the same stockpile).

There is another console command you can use and that's the "player.showinventory" command.

All items the player will have in the inventory will be listed and press either PageUp or PageDown to scroll thorugh that list. Once you see one Mammoth Tusk or several Mammoth Tusk's listed just pick one ID and type the this in the console.

"player.additem x" without quotes - x stands for how many Mammoth Tusk you want to add to your inventory and in this case x is 1

You can also use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10627 mod, which are a bunch of books that lists all available content in Skyrim plus all DLC.

Try buying one from the Khajiit or Belethor - sometimes they have them. I *think* there's one in Dragonsreach (you might have to steal it....) and if you build Lakeview, there's one on the shelf upstairs on the left side. First put all of the ones you already have in a container somewhere, or save your game then sell them - then see if any of the other types will work. Did you get all those from clearing Halted Stream Camp? Or did you pick them up from dead mammoths using whichever mod that is? If the latter, that might be why they aren't working....

If none of the above helps, and you haven't cleared Halted Stream Camp, go clear it, pick up the tusks there, and then see what happens.

If you have the Ringmaker quest from Madesi in Riften active then try completing that one first. He too asks for a mammoth's tusk. Or if the Sleeping Tree Cave quest is active where you return some Sleeping Tree Sap for Ysolda, try completing that one first as well
