"Patience, young Grasshopper..."

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2016 9:59 am

Just going through the Dawnstar "Nightcaller Temple" quest, I was reminded of the quests and activities where patience was a virtue. For example, if you do NOT drink Vermina's Torpor when Erandur tells you to, he will walk back to the barrier (where you find him after the dreamstride), where you can then drink it.

Others I have slapped my head at are the 2 dragon shouts you get from The Greybeards, and the one from Paarthurnax. My first time through, I got the new shouts and then went into my character sheet and spent dragon souls to activate them. Then, the Greybeards and Paarthurnax gifted me with the power to use the shouts.

What other places in Skyrim have you found that patience is good thing?

Getting Camilla Valerius to escort our characters all the way to the bridge can require a bit of patience sometimes.

Never had issues like those. :P Although...

This, followed by the tour around the college after you've already done it a couple of times can make you go "alright, come on, move faster" :P

Not freeing the Wind Stone on Solstheim early.. ahead of the quest part to do that, because it breaks the entire main quest! :nono:

Good call, Pseron! Camilla seems to get "stuck" on the chicken whenever she tries to guide me out of Riverwood

Chaka, you're more patient than I!

I did not realize that, Bonedog. Notes taken for future reference :)

I gave up messing with Camilla ages back. Just go to BFB, you get the quest once inside the Temple - overhearing the two banditti inside before you kill them. Then when you get back with the claw you just hear an abbreviated convo between Lucan and Camilla, talk to Lucan, give him the Claw, and get the gold.

Yup, I just did this to myself last week

All the other stones are fine to free early but if you do the wind stone, when you exit Miraaks temple with Frea there won't be a barrier over Skaal village, and the whole thing short circuits and dead ends right there.

Had to reload and backtrack several DAYS worth of gameplay because of that. Lesson learned :)
