Graphic mods list suggestions?

Post » Sat Aug 06, 2016 3:43 am

I finally have a computer that can handle improved graphics. I need some help with suggested mods that work well together and aren't too difficult to set up. I've got the basic ENB Boost but I just don't feel comfortable with ENBs in general so I'm not going to try others, and I think Dyndolod is beyond my comfort range also.

I have the High Res Texture Pack + Patch.

Ruins Clutter Improved

Static Mesh Improvement Mod

Realistic Water2

Climates of Tamriel - vanilla interiors

Enhanced Lights and FX + Enhancer

Skyfalls & Skymills.

What I'm mainly looking for is something to make the landscape, up close and in the distance look better.

Vanilla tree LOD's are pretty bad. Try the Ruffled Feather collection or another mod that overhauls Trees and has a Tree LOD included.

If you're not up to generating DynDoLOD yourself you could try one of the "Showcase" versions downloaded from its Nexus page. Its a simple install like any other rmod.

Along with The Ruffled Feather, you might try http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77145/? ( he also has individual plant's that are older versions ) or http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141/? both work with CoT. they are both pretty good... I change them back and forth depending on what I really want.

Here are some suggestions:

- aMidianBorn mods. There are several of these at Nexus. Just pick the ones you want.

- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/59721/?. You don't need the Skyfalls & Skymills mod with this.

And if you decide to use DynDOLOD:

- http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62698/?. Only this one without TESLODGen

And for plants and such http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/141/?. Remember to use also the "SFO Billboards" for DynDOLOD.

I'm not sure about Skyrim Flora Overhaul. Do you need to install and run DynDOLOD or not? Can you just add the SFO Billboards like any other Nexus Mod without DynDOLOD? I really don't want to generate LODs at all. Can't pregenerated ones simply be downloaded from Nexus?

I prefer Vivid Weathers over Cot

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73937/?

It actually uses much of Cot but tweaks it and looks so much better imo.

AFAIK you don't need the SFO Billboards for the Flora Overhaul with DynDOLOD. I used Flora Overhaul and DynDOLOD together quite a long time without the Billboards before I noticed that it exists.

SFO Billboards needs either the TES5LODGEN or DynDOLOD to generate the LOD files because it has to know what mods are installed on your computer.

I use SFO without any LOD's...you don't need the LOD's. They make the distance prettier true... You probably can download pre-generated ones, I have never looked for that.
