Skyrim Crashing for no reason?

Post » Sun Aug 07, 2016 2:27 am

So a while back I had installed over 70 mods for Skyrim and they ran fine and were all compatible. There had barely ever been a crash and they all ran smoothly together until recently. a couple days ago, whenever I fast traveled somewhere the game would immediately CTD.

The same would happen whenever I walked more than a few feet out of a city gate, cave, etc into the open world. Now I've deleted every single mod except for SkyUi and Live Another Life to see if that would help, and it still crashes whenever I attempt to fast travel or move around the open world.

Is there a way to fix this?

For your issue sadly no, I think your game are too messy to even try to fix it. So I suggest that you scrap everything and start a new game.

Also, keep in mind that uninstall a mod(s) in Skyrim are NOT recommended unless it's a pluginless replacer such as this http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=4954.

The main source for having a CTD regardless what mods you are using is http://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/3676-skyrim-information-baked-into-saves/ and that's due to Papyrus.

Does this happen on a new game or just old saves?

Did you change your uGrids setting by any chance? If your save used a higher uGrids than you currently have set in the Skyrim.ini you will experience the CTD's you describe.
