What Skyrim remastered should have

I'm sure everybody realizes that. And I'm sure most of us sympathize. I myself have a long, long list of things I would love to see Bethesda add to Skyrim. The point KentuckyWildcat is making is that the people who are calling for this to be added, for that to be added, for everything they ever wanted to be added, are setting themselves up to be very disappointed when the remaster comes out and it contains exactly what Bethesda said it would contain, and no more.

If I could have one wish it would be a Linux version of the game and the Creation Kit. I would love to be able to ditch Microsoft one day.

It's the price tag that was raising my eyebrows. I have already paid full price once. Plus all the dlc at full price. I was not aware that they have now added in the ability use mods for the console. That in itself is something extra.

More fluid animation transitions. Or not have to wait for one animation to finish. Often I find I thought I pressed the sneak button after my character's cover is blown and then commence melee attacking, only to find that my character hasn't exited sneak mode yet and tries to do a power sneak attack instead. Frustrating



There are several werewolf animations that are similar. After coming out of a sprint, there is a bit of a delay before you can deliver a claw upper-cut, power attack. Other times there are delays between howling and delivering a claw upper-cut, power attack. Or vice-versa, delivering a claw upper-cut, power attack and then howling. Also after my werewolf gets hit by and arrow or a warhammer, for some reason the howl button / key doesn't work or is delayed sometimes even after the howl cool down is already done. Oblivion did have nice fluid animation transitions whereas Skyrim seemed to achieve the opposite on purpose. Can't go into sneak mode while jumping / falling, etc I do find this annoying :stare:

Get rid off 255 mod limit.


The functionality added by more hotkeys please, smartcast & grimey utilities (e.g. being able to bind spells, equipment, shouts, to more than just 10 keys; autocasting spells according to rules (like Dragon Age AI); being able to cast magic without unequipping weapon in hand.)


Portable crafting kits.

When asked about animations Pete Hines said he wants The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition to be as next gen as possible.



So I 100% think we definitely will get more better improved animations.

Improve the Civil War questline to where I'd not rather be eating shards of glass over indulging my completioniest obsession and I'll be feeling it like Mr. Krabs.

"Improved" in what way though, is the question. Better animation transitions doesn't have to be next gen. Oblivion had very smooth animation transitions already. I can see they probably scaled that back a bit in Skyrim since perhaps some people may have felt just how fluid they were in Oblivion gave the player too much of an advantage over AI. I think they went a little too far to gimp that in the original Skyrim.

Agreed. It's very unlikely it will contain many new features already not shown in the demo.



People thinking it will contain other play-mechanics and what not, are in for a disappointment, no doubt.



However, what is *not* unrealistic to expect, is that they will also clean up the remaining bugfixes to a large degree. I mean, it IS (at least for PS4 and XBOX1) a new, paid-for game, after all. Some bugfixes may be expected. And a lot of them have already been discovered and noted (and even mod-fixed), so they just need to check them out and apply the same fix. A lot of them can be found in the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch.



Bethesda, please: AT LEAST fix the quests mentioned in there, and the objects/items that were intended and should have been in there, but aren't. Nothing worse than quests that are broken or don't make sense, and items that are already there and can be extracted through console-commands, but aren't to be found in the game, when they clearly were intended to be.



It's already IN there, it just needs the correct triggers. Which means only minor work that needs to be put in, and yet a fairly large satisfaction with customers.



One of the things that really irked me, was the absence of the Ancient Falmer Crown, while it was more than obvious it was meant as a drop from that ice-elf one vanquished. It's already IN the game, and you get all the rest *except* that crown. Yes, I got it through console-commands, but that's not the way it's meant to be, and it's breaking immersion that way.



I really, really hope they'll look into some of these bugs and fix them, when they release the remastered version.
