Need a little help to finish a 3d road mod

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2016 6:10 am

Hi everyone,

I am putting the finishing touch to a new 3d road mod but i stumble on a problem since Markarth road have wrong texture.

There is probably a way to fix this in CK but i am not aware of it and Google didn't yield any result.

I know that Dragonborn and Dawnguard dlc probably have roads but since i didn't play these dlc can someone confirm where are these roads located?

Thank to anyone who can help me finish this mod.

I found out that road01reach01 was changing the Markarth road texture but i don't understand why some other modders said that it need to be change in CK when only a texture change seem to do the job?

Am i missing something here?

Wrong texture? Did you use the correct road chunks? You should be using the same ones as the rest of the roads near Markarth. If you've used the wrong ones you can edit it with TES5edit swapping one road chunk form i.d. for another

Hi Blackjack,

Just look at the nexus real roads FAQ at question :Is the ESP really necessary? These are just meshes :

Yes, it is! Base and Dwemer roads would be OK, but everything else would have the wrong textures. On top of that I'm not using the standard directory structure.

So far i just change the road01reach01.DDS and it fix my texture but i don't know if this texture is use elsewhere in road system.

Guess i will release it and wait for feedback from players.

Read up on http://www.creationkit.com/index.php?title=TextureSet. This is how the road meshes are changed for each region to match landscape.

If you replace the texture file, you replace every single object that uses that texture.

If you replace the textureset of an object, you just replace every instance that uses that object.

Hi Hanaisse,

Thank for the link and is there a way to know where a certain texture is applied in game?
