[REQ] All books in game in one place!

Post » Thu Sep 01, 2016 12:06 pm

There's a few mods that do this, and all of them have books that are ONLY from the main game, no DLC books. My request is not very complicated to a modder, but too complex for my tiny mind to comprehend. so, if this could be done, then please do this... i would LOVE to have this kind of thing in game for not just me but all lore mongers who don't want to scour the land and still miss dozens upon dozens of books.

Here is what i am asking, plain and simple:

Every Book from the main game and DLC that is NOT a spell tome, journal, note, dev thing, elder scroll. just plain old books, be it the tale of the nightingales, or skill books like the wolf queen 6 (i think) just story and lore books, no journals from quests, notes from couriers, or spell tomes. put them in a chest somewhere early on or easy to get to but out of site enough to not always see coming through

anyone who can do this, i thank you.

If you aren't opposed to using the console and can control yourself enough not to gather all the armor, weapons, ingredients and everything else, you can open the console and type

coc qasmoke

There are chests in that cell with everything in the game, separated by type. As long as the DLCs are loaded, there will be chests for those, too.

I can't promise anything but if I have time I might take a look at this next week and see if there is a container in the testing cell with all the books I could add to the world. There are several hundred books in the game, so addi t them all to a container would be a lot of work but if there is already a container with all the books then adding it to the world might not be too hard.

@Turija: Could you not just create a copy of each chest and put it somewhere in the gameworld?

Godospartan, where would you want the chest(s)? I put my cheatchest under the bridge in Riverwood. That way, I never see it unless I'm going to get something out of it. On the other hand, all those books are going to be heavy, I would imagine you'd want them somewhere close to where you intend to put them when you're done.

Yes, that's how I would do it.

well, i mean, i could technically just wait till i grab a horse with convinient horses and fill it up with the books. not like i HAVE to grab them at that second. so yeah under the bridge is fine.
