I haven't messed with the exterior spaces in CK all that much, so I'm not sure if my question will have a solid answer. I am wanting to know how large an exterior cell is in feet. For example, if I wanted to build an island that was 500 ft wide and a 1/4 mile long, how many exterior cells would I need to use? I tried google, but the only results I could find were on how large Skyrim is, and not many of them had the same answer.

192ft, according to the Wiki.

So that is roughly...

2.6 Cells (10649.6) Units) = 499.2 Feet

6.9 Cells (28262.4 Units) = 1,324 Feet (just over 1/4 of a mile)

Assuming I have the math right... Might wanna double check it
