Since the collegiate season has begun, I thought I'd start a thread for them, too
And I start off with a complaint: The penalty called "http://www.afca.com/article/article.php?id=2342." (<-- American Football Coaches Association link.)
I caught part of the BYU vs Utah game last night, specifically the 3rd quarter when 2 BYU safeties got booted from the game on 2 consecutive plays just because their helmets happened to touch the receivers while tackling them. There was no "targeting" involved, but rather "incidental contact."
This "safety" initiative... While In understand and agree with most of it, is getting way out of hand.
Anyway! Ohio State (#4), Michigan (#5), and Wisconsin (#10) in the early polls. I realize these mean nothing for the end of the season finishes, but it makes me think that the Big 10 is not as "push-over-ish" as previously thought? The SEC does not have the dominance it has enjoyed in the past few years. http://www.espn.com/college-football/rankings to ESPN's poll page
