It feels like a no-brainer but Skyrim lends itself to this type of play even more so than Fallout 4 did IMO.
It would be nice to see this implemented as a core difficulty with achievements.

It's a remaster, not a remake. It won't happen. Use mods.
It should of been in the original never mind the SE but I bet its not in the SE ether which is a bit of a kick in face to console players. I have a pc so frostfall and INeed do the job but both of these mods need the script extender and that's not coming to console mods.
Actually the author of Frostfall said he/she was https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/4o2rj8/author_of_frostfall_here_i_am_currently_planning/. It won't be the complete PC version without the Script Extender but most the features should be available for XBox.
Sybelius has hit the nail on the head or something like that ......... agrees 100% .......its not a remake ! ................if we get extra content or new menus or difficulty is a bonus
Bethesda has had 5 years to polish Skyrim up & fix up all the bugs, that is if this remastered version was on the cards all along.......and is not just another grab for cash...... if Bethesda's fan base buys Skyrim all over again they will have record sales just by releasing the same game all over again.
the part that everyone is getting confused about is that it will be stand alone ............so in every ones mind it feels like a new game all together ......speculations of new player content and major changes pops into every ones mind and why not? we would expect something new .............that's what every one is hoping for.
BUT why make it a standalone separate installation ........is the old game to buggy to fix? .....why not make a DLC like the High Definition DLC, call it the ENB DLC or something like that & a massive patch that fixes all the issues & adds all the stuff like the 64bits stuff and DOF ext (& menus) ......if you can upgrade windows7 to windows 10 why not be able to do the same with Skyrim?...........now the truth is I have no idea about programing and making games so there must be a logical & technical reason Bethesda has opted for a new release.
5 years later they should be close to releasing #6 & NOT the remastered version ..........& now we know that #6 is another 4 years away........so we have to make and do with the remastered version.
now this is great news for the console players since the game will look much better & the introduction of MODS is a big big plus,
But its going be hard to convince the PC gamer that this will be all worth it since most of the things promised or most of the questions that are asked in these types of threads (remastered) ARE ALL ACHIEVABLE BY USING MODS
PERSONAL OPINION............ this is a massive risk on Bethesda's behalf to tamper with the best game ever, yea its there game and all that stuff and they can do what they like with it ............BUT what if its a flop?...........in a months time in OCTOBER the threads will be flooded with millions & millions of opinions & questions regarding the remastered version .....every one will become a critic ......ohhh please pleas please let it live up to its expectations because there will be a lot of disappointed Dragonborns if it dose not ............
and if they all start shouting together ...........ohhhhhhh god help us
but just to get back on subject as Sybelius says.......its not a remake !
Nice post indeed. I'm one of those who desperately want, hope for more than a few graphic tweaks in the Special edition, but finally cynicism has won.
I, like other people here in this forum, just love Skyrim; it's hard to avoid thinking about all the improvements that nowadays are already available as mods in the 32bit version of the game without wondering if somehow those improvements could be integrated in its core.
Better keeping expectations at their lowest possible.
hello Adella
the best would be is a Dead is Dead mode once you die the game stops & it would be good if there was a counter for how many times you have died or reloaded the same way the game keeps count with skill books read for example .........it would be a nice aset for those who pride them selves in legendary game play
Survival mode where it cuts out fast travel and forces you to live a real life could also be a part of the Dead is Dead mode ...............that would be hard core for this one ..............but the best would be the option to customize or lock skill tress, witch one are active would totally depend on the build you have decided to play ................if your a mage you can lock all the warriors skill tress for example .
the thing about survival mode is relating to fast travel ......Skyrim is massive ...its great to get to all the locations first time but at points of the game you do have to go back to the same location lots of time just because the quests require it, a example of this is how many times you have to go up and down the mountain just to get to the throat of the world......or returning from the College of Winterhold that has no Carriage transportation system, yea you can hire a carriage to get there but no way of get back
it nice to play DiD ..............where each playthrough can be your last ...........and that makes it so unique
I just walk since it can be quite relaxing just to walk and maybe take a breather every 50 meters or so and just take in the beauty that is Skyrim. I especially like walking up and down the 7000 steps. One day I will count them but usually when I do a wolf or something attacks and makes lose track so I have to go back to the beginning and start again. Maybe when the next time I play Skyrim when the enhanced version comes out.
I think people are going to just have to be content with the scattering of additional ground cover objects you can see in the promo videos.
It's a separate entry in Steam because that just seems to be the trend with remasters so far. The one for Bioshock did the same thing for me when it popped.
That would be nice dude, but I don't know if the implementation is really good.
Does the Bioshock even do much at all? I've heard not such good things about it. At least its free if you have all the content already.
