Skyrim to Vvardenfell

Post » Mon Oct 03, 2016 5:19 pm

I think it would be cool for a mod where you can travel between Solstheim and Vvardenfell. It would be cool especially for players of Morrowind to go see how much the land has changed.

Just a thought

Skywind mate, it's time to leave the comfort of the rock you live under. :P

The scale of such a mod would be insane, I'm afraid this will only exist in our imaginations :(

I thought I saw just such a WIP thread some time ago. Don't remember the exact name but I thought it had Red Mountain in the title and had several screenshots to show how much they'd done.

Wow, I guess I have to get out of under my own rock.

Well, if people are re-creating the 3rd Era Morrowind, what's stopping them from creating their vision of the 4th Era one? Province mods of that scale are being worked on since Morrowind.

That's what I thought Skywind is. I don't follow the project, but I very well remember pictures of height maps with a massive crater in place of Vivec, and other similar concepts. Guess it was a different project, and I mixed the two up.

they have been being worked on since Morrowind, but almost none have been released.. something on that scope is really hard to do by just a handful of fans working on it in their spare time (I mean, Bethesda takes years to make a single province, and they have a larger team working full time)

I think Beyond Skyirm has a Morrowind section but it's not as progressed as Cyrodiil, High rock and Hammerfell.

They also make all the other things, like models, animations, sounds, and voice acting, while fans, aside from some moderate modeling, do almost none of the other, it's mostly world building and quest making. I wouldn't call it "hard", it's just really really time consuming, especially due to your point about spare time, compared to teams who make a living out of it. Not many have been released not because it's impossible, but because teams either give up or fall apart, and it's usually because of bad or complete lack of management.
