I bought Skyrim twice full price and DLC. I just don't see why someone who did the same on a different platform "PC" get's the game free and I don't even get a discount.

Who are we to tell Bethesda who can and can't give their games away for free?
I'm just telling them that I will skip paying full price for some of their other titles because of it, it's called feedback. They are free to do whatever they want, like charge 120$ for fallout 4. I'm not buying it, I'm not buying Dishonored 2. They have their rights and as consumers so do we.
I'm not really that upset by it. It's just I never even got to finish Skyrim or the DLC. I would get so far and then the save file would be no good or it would freeze in same spot on the map every time "which I didn't know at the time". I have stored my 360 and PS3 away, I have a huge backlog on xbox one. I just don't understand why people who bought it on PC get 100% credit but my 360 and PS3 version gets no credit, no big deal though.
^I'm guessing PC players get the remaster for free because we have the least to gain from it. People with mid to high end PCs can probably make the 2011 version of Skyrim look just as good if not better than the SE and we already have mod access so there's little to no incentive to buy the game again. As originally planned, console players (now just XBox players) would have some access to mods which is a pretty good reason to purchase the game again so that's why Bethesda isn't handing out free copies for console owners.
There are several reasons why we PC players get SSE for free if one owns the standard game + DLCs.
1. Unlike on console side, there's no change in platform. However 360 is different platform compared to X1, the same goes to PS3 vs PS4.
2. PC has the least to gain. Mods can make the standard edition to look even better than the SSE by default. There is no real incentive for PC players to buy the game again.
3. To kickstart the availability of mods for console players, it's necessary to have people to make them. Creating mods is exclusive to PC and console players need PC players to make mods for them. If PC players didn't get the free upgrade, there would be very very little amount of quality mods for console players to enjoy.
I can't seem to articulate it just right but that seems messed up to me. Seem like a poopy thing to do to your loyal customers.
We're going to sell you a new version of a game you already own at max price because of mods and pretty graphics. PC users already get those things for free so we might as well give them the new version of the game free too.
If you don't think the SE is worth the price then either wait a month or so until the price drops or don't buy it at all. No one is forcing you.
Yeah, I don't plan on buying anymore Bethesda games
Not even TES VI? I get that the way the SE was handled is upsetting to some but swearing off all Bethesda games seems a bit excessive IMO.
I know what you mean and fully agree. Love playing on console.
