Skyrim - SE Aspect Ratio Problem (XB1)

Post » Sat Oct 29, 2016 8:58 pm

Hi all, I recently discovered that Skyrim - Special Edition doesn't entirely fit on my screen. The text on the corners cut off partially, making it frustrating to read text and notifications. Unfortunately my TV (Philips 32" Class LCD HDTV 32PFL3506/F7) and the Xbox One have no options to change the aspect ratio of the display. Any update on if this issue is being looked into, and could we possibly see an option to change the display within the game? Hopefully a fix comes soon, can't imagine it would take too long.

Me and 2 friends having the same issue for Xbox One. I don't mind too much, but it caused 1 friend to immediately return the game (seemed a little harsh lol).

I am having the same issue with Skyrim on the PS4. I have read that the TV probably has Overscan turned on which is causing the problem. My issue now it that my TV does not have the option to turn Overscan off. I have tried adjusting the aspect ratio for the PS4 and it has done nothing. I have adjusted the other TV display settings and they have done nothing. I too am hoping that they create a patch with the ability to change the aspect ratio in game.

My screen is cut off so bad that when I'm in a sidebar menu such as trading, blacksmithing, etc, the majority of the words are cut off. Instead of blacksmithing "iron", i see "on" or "de" for "Hide".

I also want to point out that Fallout 4 on PS4 did not have this issue nor did Skyrim on PS3. I have new games such as Battlefield 1 (which does not have an issue) so it's not game tech becoming too advanced.
