Making a Dremora race

Post » Sun Oct 30, 2016 2:27 am

Hey all, I'm new to using the creation kit. I've wanted to start learning how to use it to make mods for consoles. PS4 specifically so I only want to use what's already in the game. I would like to make a new Dremora race. Though when I click the Dremora setting in the morph race it doesn't load it for the preview screen. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

***EDIT***

After fiddling a bit more I figured it out I think. Morph race wasn't what I was looking for. My new questions are how do I make the full body visible in game?? The face markings are also gone. and how can I put horns on female dremora?

I don't know about any of that. But I was curious, what abilities are you going to have with the dremora?

Since there already is a Dremora race, are you intending an additional one, or just updates to that?

Any race can only use the armor that fits it (so for example, kids don't wear advlt clothes and vice-versa, and Khajiit and Argonians have differently shaped helmets specially for them). That includes their skin, which is just another armor, as far as the game engine knows. You need to update each item they can wear to allow it to be worn by your new race, or by the existing Dremora race. Since no Dremora appears naked, it's likely that the naked skin is not valid for them, just the deadric-like armour, and the outfits that Velehk Sain, and the Dragonborn DLC's Dremora servants wear.

When I added horns to a female Dremora, I had to use a modelling program (blender, for example) to combine adjusted male horns with a female hairstyle. The horns have to be moved to fit on the female head at an appropriate location. You then have to define the new head parts to the CK, add them to the lists of available hairstyles etc. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74171 was an NPC, so didn't need anything like as much work as a playable character would have needed.
