I play on PC but prefer to play Skyrim using my PS4 controller, largely because I played it for years on the PS3 before getting a new computer and also because I don't use archery much so feel like a pad gives you better control in hand to hand.
Last night I started the game with my controller plugged in and configured it and it was working fine. Today when I go to play the game with it the buttons are all messed up:-
- Triangle sheathes and unsheathes weapons when it should be Square
- Square is the interact/pickup button when it should be X
- X is the jump button when it should be Triangle
- Circle is the skills/magic/items/map menu button which is correct
The trouble is I can't access the Options menu to change this because pressing the Options button on the PS4 pad now does nothing and if I unplug it and press escape then obviously this will only allow me to configure the keyboard bindings not the joypad ones.
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling skyrim and restarting my computer to no avail. Is there a file that I can delete to reset these settings or something along those lines? Is anyone else having issues with this?
I knew I could count on Bethesda to grab their cash and butcher this game with a minor graphics update.
