“What do you think, fetcher? You think the baby-eaters would ever allow a son of Dres to return to his people?
No, my name is known to those in power. Should I cross that border today, I forfeit my life.
When I return, it will be at the head of a merciless host that will cleanse Morrowind with fire and sword!
Until that day comes, I will continue to be a native exile.”
-Atvir Dres 4E 201
Many fans may be familiar with the quintessential companion mod, Atvir Dres: The Last Prince of Tear (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/19348/), but if you haven't, it's safe to say that it's hands down one of the most enjoyable, unique companion mods for Skyrim. Alas, the mod developer who dedicated his time and energy working on the mod is retired from the modding community, and with his busy work and volunteer schedule doesn't have the time to prepare the mod for Skyrim SE. I'm asking for anyone who is familiar with modding/transferring mods to Bethesda.net for console to possible help make this mod available for everyone to enjoy.
I reached out to the author to let him know the community was interested in his mod, and he gave his blessing to anyone who'd be willing to do it:
"FifthEstate,
Thanks for writing!
I'm afraid that I don't have the time to port Atvir to the Remastered version of Skyrim, as I've recently taken on a new job and am busy with volunteer work on the side. However, should someone choose to take on the project themselves, they have my full support. I know that's not an ideal answer, but given the amount of work involved in modding, that's the best I can do. I do hope that someone decides to attempt to convert the mod. Best of luck, my good fetcher.
Regards,
Alex/JanusForbeare
Is there anyone who'd be willing to help get this ball rolling? If I had a computer with enough processing power to run Skyrim I would do it myself, but as things stand I'm not able to.
