Community need backup

Hello, first of all id like to say to my fellow Bethesda worshipers or raging serial killers i do not blame anyone i do not even know if its a mod issue or game issue i just need some community power so without further delay!

I have a save game on my way up mountain to them elderly yoda's teach me some uber whining, when i suddenly encounter a wispmother(ethereal moby casts icy spells light blue -hazel color spawn about illusions of self) who i can kill easily but when i do so:

1)Screen goes pitch black

2)UI is still there(health bars magicka bar stamina bar)

3)music keeps going

4)no sound fx or any movement happens behind the black screen game is totally freezballing

now ive searched a lot and i found a post for Skyrim vanilla which states that killing illusions or even the actual mob that spawns them (wispmother) can some times bloat the save and cause a crash from that moment onward,so my

question is if anyone has encountered any similar issues be it either due to a mod bug or main game bug or what ever i just want it gone,i also tried to ''tcl'' through wall and see what will happen if the mob dies with me far away (lydia smacks the living [censored] out of it)and to my great surprise i froze again even tho half way to oblivion and mid air, also i have noticed that the mob does some kind of spell around me the moment it dies and its the last thing i can see before freezing,i have tried loading an earlier save but that leads to same result if i decide to kill the particular kind of mobs and anyway i want a solution not a workaround i know i can ''kill'' command the mob which i did and leads to same thing or ''tcl'' but i want to be able to kill any mob without freezballing every time(u tend to kill alot in skyrim so..)

Any and all advice, help, raging spree comments are welcome!

You're fun, OP - makes me wish I could help you. Alas, I'm not sure.

Perhaps that NPC is just bugged for some reason and you can fast travel past it. Do you have a physical copy of the game? It may be worth attempting to reinstall it.

Just guesses, I'm afraid.

Oh and this should probably be in the PC hardware and software issues subforum, but I won't report you. ;)

(Don't start a new thread now though)

I guess that's another change from the old game to the new- I have never, even once, seen a wispmother on my way to HH.

I know I have encountered Wisps there. I might have encountered a Wisp Mother there since I am usually in my 20's when I go there for the first time if I make a character that reaches the 20's. Also I do not fast travel so when ever I do go up there it is following the path up there.

[edit]

I usually do get Ice Wraith at the first journey up there.

Wispmothers are around in vanilla but are rare. I've never seen one heading up to HH either. For the OP - Killing illusions (or the mobs that spawn them) is part of the game. It won't by itself cause bloat.

As to the issue you face, I wish I had an easy answer. Can you post a list of the mods you are using? Is this original skyrim or special edition? There are tools that you can use to detect mod conflicts/dependencies and such.

I had a terrible time moving any where near the standing stone in Raven Rock, as soon as it came into view Crash! So I fast traveled away, explored a bit, waited a day when I got back to Raven Rock and approached it very slowly. It works fine now, try Fast Traveling to White Run and clear out a nearby Cave or Camp then head back to Ivarstead. Only advice I got. Good Luck!

Do you have multiple saves for this character? If you do, revert back a save or two, go back to where you encountered the whisp mother. If it happens again. Revert once more but this time go somewhere else, do something else and see if the game locks up on you again. If it does than you have issues, might be mod conflict related might be your load order.

If the game doesn't lock up on you when you do something else, than you have an issue in the area of the whisp mother or its the whisp mother herself that's the issue. Once again, could be mod related.

I'm not sure this is something that happens in the vanilla game. In all my time playing on the 360 I've not once encounter a whisp mother on the way up to HH. The only whisp mother I know of close to HH is on the back path going up to Ivarstead, it's guarding an old guard tower. But that's no even close to the mountain, it's a ways back from Ivarstead.....

If the crashing persists than the only thing I can suggest doing is disabling your mods one at a time until you find the problem mod. If none of the mods seem to be the issue, try starting a fresh character with no mods running and get to the same point you're at now to see if it happens on a new character with no mods. If it still happens than it's a game issue. Could try un-installing the game and reinstalling it.

That's all I gotvim afraid....
