Try going into the game folder and running SkyrimSE.exe as an administrator, or alternatively, right click on Skyrim Special Edition in Steam and "Create Desktop Shortcut" and see if that does the trick.
I have been having launcher issues myself:
Skyrim SE doesn't seem to be saving the video settings in the launcher. Every time I select the settings I want, they revert back to the default as soon as I click OK. Each time I try to start the game, the launcher detects my video settings and performs first-time setup. My .ini's are all read-only, could there be a problem detecting my graphics card?
I have tried everything I can think of; did the basics of uninstalling/reinstalling the game & drivers, verified Steam cache, deleted installscript.vdf, re-verified, reinstalled, etc. but still no luck
It's really frustrating me now, been her over 2 hours trying to sort this out.
This i a totally clean install; no mods whatsoever.
My specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 4GB
Processor: Intel Core i7-4820k [email protected]
RAM: 32GB
OS: Windows 10 Home (16-7) 64-bit
I am using the latest NVIDIA drivers (375.70) , any help would be appreciated.
**Problem was caused by my antivirus. Make sure you add Steam.exe, SkyrimSE.exe and SkyrimSELauncher.exe to your trusted applications.**
EDIT: I am also having an issue with $ being displayed in front of the Mod Manager section of the Main Menu (ie. "$Mod Manager"). Also, all of the tabs across the bottom of the Mods page all display a $ in front.
