Dual Wield....

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 6:29 am

Seriously how awesome would this be, even if its not really useful for more than comedic effect.

Would be pretty cool to become an impenetreble fortress by duel wielding shields, then shield bashing your way through dungions. I mean, the infrastructure is there so why not allow such a thing? Again even if it's not practical, it would be pretty hilarious and give the game much more creative freedom in what you can do :D

Similar to how you could equip two different types of pauldrons in morrowid. It's just nice to have that kind of option or depth avalable should someone choose to do a goofy thing like that, which really reinforces the belivable, open ended non-linear world feel 8)

two bows...

There is one significant difference. A bow is handled with two hands... a shield is not. :)

Lol... two shields would be epic. I don't know if it will be possible in the game, and I don't expect it to be possible. So far the new combat system sounds very promising.

Maybe you can have a weapon in one hand, shield in the other, and can do blunt force damage with the shield.

That would indeed be insane and crazy awesome. Add a shield on your back and its like epic pwnage. Ten bucks says it'll be a mod if it isn't already possible.

No, you misunderstood, the characters in Skyrim have that nuerological disorder in which you lose conscious control over half your body, so you have to spend the entire game fighting yourself.

There was a very powerful character class in diablo II like this. I found it tremendously stupid. The paladin would attack with his shield...he could only hit one enemy at a time..

Sheild bash+holy sheild was ridiculous though, you could do a couple thousand damage depending on the type of shield you started with.

I'm pretty sure the rules say no correcting spelling since not everyone here is a native speaker.

Double crossbows could work if they were designed for it [small, one handed grib and fire] though they shouldnt be very powerful.

I think I read somewhere that you'd be allowed to use magic in one hand and a weapon in another. I think that would be awesome. A stun spell at range go in close and bash them with an enchanted sword.

I mentioned this a couple hours ago in another thread. I plan to play with dual shields if it is possible.

It will cause issues when "reloading" the clossbow, kind of the same issue as with the bow. :P

I'm not the biggest fan of Dual Wielding weapons

But i'm quite happy about being able to 'equip' two spells and use them almost simultaneously

how about double repeater crossbows? Those don't need to be reloaded every shot.

We already have one or two dual wield threads, I will link if I can find one.

Also, some of you need to stop playing spelling cops. We do warn for that if it goes on too long. :stare:
