My game has suddenly developed a bizarre bug. I was in Whiterun and Vilkas from the Companions ran up to me (weapon drawn?!) and prompted me to join the quest where you travel with Farkas to prove yourself worthy of being a Companion. Then, he proceeded to follow me everywhere and the system is constantly stealing focus and forcing me into dialogue with him. I even left Whiterun and he followed. While he is following me, I can't fast travel because it says I'm being pursued by a guard (I'm not, just Vilkas).


I managed to escape him long enough to complete the quest with Farkas, but upon returning to Whiterun, the game is once again ruined by him constantly interrupting every activity (including talking to other people) to steal focus and force me into the dialogue interface with him.


I tried restarting, dying, going back to and old save, it always happens. I don't have any mods installed.


Bethesda? Help?
