I just want to play Skyrim SE. All my other games work fine.
The game launches fine from Steam, and appears to run well. However, on the intro cut-scene the game has randomly crashed several times. Freezing up the whole PC, and requiring a reboot. When it doesn't freeze on the intro cut-scene the game seems to run without an issue, until I need to save and quit. I have been able to save and quit to menu (other times the game just freezes on pressing save). If I try to quit the game to desktop from any menu it crashes the game, freezing the PC once again, If i do a reboot and re-launch the game, my save file is no longer present putting me back at square one. I haven't seen this problem anywhere else and I am fed up of trying to sort this myself, hopefully someone can help.
Here is a list of some things I have tried:
- Verified game cache
- Updated the AMD drivers for my GPU
- Tried running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 + Windows 8
- Ran the game as administrator
- Played the game in Windowed Mode
- Lowered all the graphical settings
- Turned off my AV during play
- Updated to the beta (1.1.51)
- Fresh install
Here are some specs of my PC:
OS: Windows 10 Pro (fully updated)
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 270x 4gb (sapphire) (driver update 16.11.2)
CPU: Intel i5 4670k
RAM: 16gb
DirectX: 12
I appreciate all replies
