Hi all. I posted this on Reddit but didn't get any answers I had hoped for...
My heavily modded Skyrim w/ ENB keeps crashing. It is very frustrating. Crash Fixes is telling me it's a memory problem. I know it's a 32-bit application. I know SE will eventually be better when SKSE64 is released. But I want to play now. And I don't understand how/why some people have been able to do more mods than I have with more heavy duty ENB and not crash constantly.
I am using Crash Fixes on top of the usual SKSE memory patch + Safety Load + Bug Fixes. I feel like I've read instructions over and over again and I'm hitting a dead end. My system is a gtx 1080, i7-4790k and 16gb ram... so I know my system can handle this. Basically the game will load but in certain areas or instances, the game will just CTD. It could be immediate after loading a save (in Whiterun) or after an hour. In fact, I don't think I've ever been able to play past an hour. I even had a blue screen of death once.
I have experimented with turning on/off UseOSAllocators and playing around with size of Custom Memory Block.
I use Tetrachromatic ENB with ExpandSystemMemoryX64=false and ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true.
I have used Memory Blocks to see that I'm getting 1024/256 but I have not checked the process usage in Task Explorer or Process Lasso. It does seem, however, that I am not reaching memory limit according to Memory Blocks log. The actual value at the bottom of the log is much smaller.
The FPS will range from 30-40 FPS in cities or exteriors. Otherwise, it's at 60 FPS. I don't even care about performance any more. I just want stability with ENB effects and some 2k textures and Requiem.
I remember why I was so stoked for the 64-bit SE now.
Can anyone help?
