StutteringGlitching at random

Hi,

I've been playing Skyrim on PC for a while, I have 170 hours on the original version, and recently I've been having issues with the game just randomly stuttering (visually and auditory). It happens most around water but it isn't limited to when water is in the field of view. I was wondering if anyone knows what's up with this, I've tried everything I know to do, even reinstalling the game files. I've tried it with and without mods, but not on a different computer (because I'm pretty sure that wouldn't prove anything). It's only Skyrim, and one thing that surprised me is it affects Special Edition, too, even though I just installed it a couple days ago. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Specs: I am 99% sure that my specs are not a problem, and I have the newest drivers for my graphics card, BIOS, etc.

Maybe try turning the graphics down?

What FPS are you running at? If your monitor is a newer 120 or 144 Hz monitor, the game tries to run at that speed, which Skyrim was not designed to run at. You need to bring it down to around 60 FPS. Above that the game's physics engine wonks out.
