I'm playing on the PS4 Enhanced edition. The quest says to meet Tolfdir outside Saarthal. When I get here only Brelyna is here, no other students. Tolfdir is nowhere to be seen. There is an arrow pointing to where he should be standing however.

I've tried waiting 24 hours. I traveled to Markarth and waited 24 hours there per the suggestion of a years old thread. I've tried running multiple other missions. Nothing is working. Any ideas?

So I did something drastic. I killed Brylena and it started a mission to rejoin the College and it told me to talk to Tolfdir. It gave me a nice big arrow pointing him out. The problem? He's chillin on a cliff in the mountain west of Winterhold! I made my way to him somehow and paid the gold needed but what now?

Are you using any mods?

I is probably best to reload a save from before you took the quest and start over.
