It's been probably 9 months since I last played skyrim, a number of mods I have in my load order have new versions.. Is the best practice to simply uninstall the old version, install the new version and then load my character save? Or is it better to disable the mod in game if possible, un-install the mod, load character, save game, install new version of mod.

I am worried about breaking scripts.
