SSE - MOMO2 vs Beth mods & MO setup

Post » Sat Nov 19, 2016 9:30 pm

I'm a little late to the party, I just started playing again a few days ago. I have a new rig with win 10 so a bit of a learning curve.

First, Does the in-game Beth mod option isolate the mods from the vanilla game like MO? I.E. Can I add and remove mods without risk of corrupting the vanilla game/overwrites/ect? Just saying you can remove mods and load your previous game is a bit ambiguous..

Second, I'm having an issue setting up MO on this machine, long story short I am stuck where it asks you to select the game, none are auto detected and I cant seem to manually select it.

The only files that the built in mod option installs when you download a mod are like: modname.esp, modname.bsa, and possibly a modname.ini, there are no loose files that can overwrite eachother. Thus when it removes a mod it very easily finds and removes any added files. Beyond that, not even ModOrganizer allows you to safely load a savegame where mods that are no longer present have been used, you always have to revert to as save before the removed mod was installed.
