Language options for Special Edition PS4 (Spanish)

Post » Sun Nov 20, 2016 6:16 pm

I am really excited about this game because I missed it the first time around on the last generation of consoles. I play the majority of my games dubbed and or subtitled in Spanish because I like the practice, and I'm more likely to read a lot of the books in the world. However, when I played the US version of Fallout 4 at my brothers house on his Xbox One, I was saddened to see that were no language options in the game even when converting the console completely to Spanish. I am considering importing this game from Spain as I often do when a developer doesn't include Spanish here in the US edition. However, I'd thought I would ask here to see if anyone has tried it and could tell me whether or not the game disc in the US version includes the Spanish audio track, so I don't have to deal with high shipping and customs.

Thanks!

One final thought. It seems to me that in the times we live in where we have the option to download the entire game to our consoles from the PS store, why can't we download a language pack?

--I'm not a developer so it could be the case that it's more complicated that just downloading a simple language pack.

--I feel it's a missed opportunity to sell more games to a sector of the population un touched and all you would need is a simple download (again, if it were possible).

--I personally know people who have skipped over games because they are only subtitled. (who wants to read subtitles for 8-12 hours and miss out on good graphics?)

To answer your question at the end of your post(I'm on my phone and it's hard to edit posts) I use subtitles all the time because of noise here at home. It really doesn't cause an issue with enjoying the graphics.

As for as the lack of a language pack, I'm guessing that it's not as easy as it seems or else every game would have one. I'm just speculating though. I have no education in game design, unlike the hordes of "experts" here in the game forums.

I doubt very seriously that it is a casual decision not to have it. There is just way too much money involved for it to be a casual move.
