New Need help!

Post » Mon Nov 21, 2016 4:40 pm

Hello I'm somewhat new to skyrim. What I mean is I played a little bit while back on the pc but was so overwhelmed with what to do I quit but wanted to give it another go. But I wanted all the DLC this time so I got myself a used copy of the legendary edtition for the Xbox 360....Yea I know of the Xbox one remastered but kinda low on money right now. Anyways I've played an elder scrolls game before skyrim but that was years ago and that was over my cousin's house So I don't remember much but yea kinda need help on making a character. Yes I know skyrim is the type of game you do what you want and make the character the way you want but I still need a little foundation to begin so my question is if i'm going to be mostly a one handed/destruction spell type person with an occasional bit of one handed duel wielding what would most of my perks need to go into and also is there anyway to reset them if you mess up? And also where do I put my attribute points into and is it possible to reset them if you have messed up? And also after a long long time is it possible to maximize everything on one character?

It doesn't really matter. You can't really mess up a character.

Just play and do what you think feels like fun.

Health, Magicka, Stamina nope.

Perks and Skill yes

1. Beat Dragonborn's main questline. You get an item that allows you to spend a Dragon Soul to refund a Skill Tree's perks while keeping the skill level.

2. Dawnguard added Legendary Skills. When a skill hits 100 you have the option to make a Skill Legendary, it sets the skill to Rank 15 and refunds any spent perk points.

Thanks a ton but since Health, Magicka, and stamina can't be reset what would be the best thing to do with them?

If I were playing a 1-handed sword / Destruction character, I would alternate between Health and Magicka every other level.

Thanks so Stamina isn't important? And sorry for all the questions! This is first time taking this game serious! So I would do like this...Level up Health, Level up Magic and so on and so forth?

Well, there are a lot of different opinions, but I have never found Stamina to be all that important. I have played a number of Warriors and Rogues without putting a single point into Stamina and they all survived just fine. I did experiment once with putting all my points into Stamina when I played a Thief, but I can't say it made a large difference. Frankly, I would have been happier putting most of those points into Health.

And don't worry about asking questions. It's a great way to learn. :)

Stamina also increases your carry weight, so every character benefits from having more.

But some characters are only going to need a little boost there.

Don't worry too much about how to build the character. Play at Apprentice or even Novice difficulty and try every skill.

Explore every corner of the world, read all the books you come across (you can find a lot about TES series just by reading the many books you find ingame), speak to every NPC you see (try all the dialog options), join every faction, accept every quest, no matter how small and insignificant it looks.

If you wanna build the perfect legendary warrior/mage/thief/assassin, you can do it later, when you know more about the game.

your problem is that you are using magic & 1 x handed combination and you have to make a decision witch is your main strike weapon and what you use for a backup weapon

  • If magic is the main strike weapon the you should pore points into magic & health .....use 1:2:0........and only rely on 1 x handed weapons for when every thing else fails ........or put into stamina every 5 levels

  • If your depending on you melee attacks (1 x handed) and you use magic as a back up ...........then you should apply this combo .....1:2:1 .......magic x1, health x2, stamina x1

stamina will allow you to preform power attacks that can give you massive amounts of damage (+50%) .............and can make the difference of taking out a opponent in one hit instead of 5 normal hits

also like Sir Pluto said you can carries more if you put points into stamina, if you want the carries weight with out using stamina, try the pickpocket skill tree, Extra Pockets 50, Carrying capacity is increased by 100 points or use potions

Dawnguard did not add that feature. When Skyrim added the Legendary Patch which included the Legendary Difficulty and the option to make a skill tree legendary when it is at 100.

Were you playing on the PS3 since I think that Dawnguard was delayed for a long time and it came out around the time of the Legendary patch when all the DLC's were done and about to be released and the Legendary version of the game was up for sale.

https://www.youtube.com/user/FudgeMuppet has some really good character builds on their channel. They lay out the race, backstory and playstyle so they're a good place to look if you're in need of ideas.
