Having killed everybody in Cidhna Mine and incurred my first murder for giving Madanach the fate he and all his followers deserve, I went on to kill all the cannibals in the Taste of Death quest.

Then I had a change of heart and decided to go back to the prison, let Madanach attack me, kill him in self-defense, and leave the rest of the prisoners to whatever fate awaits.

But now, when I go to Markarth, I’m no longer offered the Taste of Death quest. I have entered the pub multiple times and hung around the Hall of the Dead, but no joy.

I suspect that being a murderer might be a prerequisite?
