Guards attack me for no reason

Consilium

So, I'm playing Skyrim (xbox) and I get to Whiterun and suddenly the guards attack me, with no provacation. I thought it was because of a specific mod (which I had in mind), as it had to do with the Civil War and sides and I thought it was because the Whiterun guards were allegiant to one side, so I uninstalled it, but it's still happening. I already had problems with starting a new game, but right now I've no idea what to do. The majority of my mods just change gameplay aspects, not NPC behaviors.

Any suggestions?

It's not wise to disable a mod and continue playing. The data from it bakes into your save file.

Did you go back to a save before the mod was installed if not you are likely going to have more problems in the future with a potential character corruption with the lose of the character.

It is best to make a test character to test mods out and when you are happy with the mods that you are using then you start your character. If a new mod becomes available you take out the test character and test that mod with your load order and see if it fits in with your mods.

It's having deadly civil wars active before you join a side. It seems to work fine after that. Disable it when you start a new character, then enable it when you've finally joined.
