I've been reading threads of how people feel that Skyrim should not have been remastered because Bethesda should be working on TES6 or how Skyrim SE is over priced, or how Skyrim SE is nothing but a shiny coat of paint and so on.


Tonight I passed the 100 hour mark on my Xbox and I was thinking about the forums here. I just reached the outskirts of Markath when I logged tonight. 100 hours and I haven't even touched the expansions yet.


On top of that the game just looks amazing on the Xbox. I have about 12 mods that do minor things like letting me have more than one follower, I have one for the weather,and little mods like those and so on.


And the game is just gorgeous. It's like the ENBs that I used from Nexus on my old comp were pre installed on my Xbox copy.


I can only imagine what I can do with Nexus when I get my new comp in February with my income tax return. It's a good time to be a Bethesda gamer.


I've been having a blast playing a game that I love. For me, it was worth every penny of that sixty bucks. I would not hesitate to do it all over again.


I just wanted to say something positive after seeing all the negative stuff here.


EDIT: I just realized I said "logged off". Too many years playing MMOs. *sigh*

but you are right fantasyjunkie, Bethesda did a fantastic job .....and personally has never see Skyrim more stable than it is now. (on a PC)



and yea the site is over scratched with how to questions & bug complaints that make threads like these go unnoticed



in all fairness Bravo to Beth for the work done ............



now if a cow falls form the sky every now and then, is very normal .....its something that happens only in Skyrim, its just part of life

Whoa, console gamers can now have more than one follower? Finally!



I remember on the Xbox 360, I managed to get more than one for awhile during the Dawnguard quest. The game seemed to have glitched or something, and would occasionally "forget" that Serana is supposed to be doing something else if my character at the time had a follower with him. So I could sometimes build a 3-person party.



Anyways, nice to hear you're enjoying SE. Dang I wish Xbox 1 had the 360;s Kinect voice commands; it's the one thing I miss while PC gaming. I would actually buy an XB1 for myself just for that feature.

I like the look of SSE on PC, though for my taste it's too polychromatic. But I fixed that with Imaginator so now I have the "upgraded" graphics but it's still my lovely "bleak" Skyrim. I do agree, fantasyjunkie - beth did a nice job, it's stable, and when I can have all the mods for SSE that I have for vanilla, I'll move permanently. That's going to be a while, since so much that I use depends on SKSE.

I envy you guys who have that kind of time. I did back in 2012, but not any more. Basically down to one day a week. I only have about 25 hours, and that was after a 10 hour marathon last Saturday that left my right hand crippled.


Aside from some brief testing, I am playing pure vanilla on PC and enjoying the heck out of it. I'm playing the Dawnguard radiant quests that I never did on Xbox. The real fun is that they keep sending me to Solstheim, where I am finding all kinds of things to distract me. I've figured out that this is the spirit of the radiant quest system. The objective is usually a generic fetch and/or kill quest. It's all the other things you can find to do along the way that is the real meat of the game. I'm in my usual state of quest overload, with over a page of both named quests and miscellaneous tasks.


I have no intention of modding the game until the SE and its 3rd party tools mature some more. I think a lot of problems people are having are probably due to improperly ported mods, the incomplete current state of mod managers and other tools, plus a few lingering engine bugs that I hope Bethesda will fix (their tradition is to leave something broken, so this is only a hope). But I always was happy with the vanilla game. Mods are fun, but I dont really need any. I'm actually playing the game for the first time in 3 years instead of Mod Simulator, as I saw someone else put it.

Yeah I just started over picking a few mods from Bethesda.net. Trying to do something I've never done before: make a Khajiit character that is mostly hand to hand. Mods I'm running right now are Unofficial patch, Climates of.. (forget the name; think it's Tamriel though), and Ars Metalica. I want to add Immersive Armor and (when it comes out) Immersive weapons, but I'm not sure how to go about that since it seems Mod Organizer is not available for the Special Edition. Do I have that right? It's not available right?

One thing that has to be considered is the amount of game play you get out of a TES game... you definitely get your monies worth when looking at it like that. Then consider games that you have bought and barely touched (ESO included for me)

I'm with you the way. I'm closing in on 130 hours and have barely scratched the surface. Right now I'm splitting it up between 3 characters but I have designs for a couple more that I'll fire up sooner or later.

On SSE I have around 20 mods (not all active on all characters). I'm messing with it manually until I see what a new iteration of NMM comes up with. So for now, I'm saving each girl in her own folder, moving the last save into the Saves folder to switch to whichever one I want to play, and manually activating/deactivating mods depending on what's set for each girl. Which is fine with only a few mods, but is going to get pretty painful someday!

I agree. This is a great "remaster". No mods. I'm level 78 and I've only just joined the Dawnguard and only in the first village on Solstheim. I've also logged over 100 hours.

How do people get to level 78 at only 100 hours? I've got a character who's only level 50-something with over 300 hours on her.



In any case, I'm glad Bethesda did this. It's got people enjoying this fine game again. :)

For me the greatest advantage of Special Edition is the 64-bit architecture. The stability and graphic advantages, not to mention the memory and processing increases, will catapult this great game to new heights.



For now, I am slowly converting and waiting for mods in order to produce a game world comparable to that which I play using Legendary Edition, not so much in graphics (for that I feel I've already surpassed) but for actual game mechanics and such. Until then, I continue to play my Legendary setup but do find myself spending more and more time "testing" Special Edition.



I don't expect TES VI for at least a few more years and even then I doubt I'll instantly ditch Skyrim SE for it. New and shiny, for me, does not overthrow stable and true. It took me three years or so to transition from a fully modded out Oblivion to Skyrim, I expect it will take the same for me transition from TES V to TES VI.



Once SKSE64 appears and some of the "can't live without" mods I use now function, Legendary Skyrim will be left behind in favor of SSE. In my opinion, other than the currently available modules, there is no comparison between the two: Skyrim Special Edition, with its 64-bit advantages, rules! In another 6 or 8 months all those negative commenters will be singing another tune; bet on it.

The XBox ONE version looks amazing and runs so incredibly smooth and I'm sure it's the same for other platforms.



Despite spending a lot of time with the game on the 360 I still had played nowhere enough "True-Skyrim" to justify MODing.



Just enjoying an absolutely brilliant experience.



Price is easily justified and congrats to the people who held off until today and picked it up for half price!
