I cannot get Skyrim Special Edition to recognize my video card.

"Your video hardware was not identified. Video settings have been set for Low Quality."

I've tried updating drivers with GeForce Experience, that didn't work.

I tried adding sD3DDevice="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M" under Launcher in the SkyrimPrefs ini, that didn't work.

I've tried fiddling in Manage 3D Settings in the NVidia Control Panel... still can't figure out what's going on.

I couldn't for the life of me get the game to play smoothly on my other PC, so this time I partitioned my Mac to be half Windows with Boot Camp, and lo and behold, this surprise problem. Is that why it can't find my graphics card - because I'm on a Mac? I've seen nothing online that would indicate that's the case.

Since its a Mac only variant (I believe), it probably was never added to the database. Manually set to High Quality and go from there. Geforce Experience might be able to determine optimal settings.

Don't worry about it, unless you cannot get stable performance or the settings aren't saving.
