CTD but unsure as to which mods are causing it

Hi everyone,

I got Skyrim for the PS3 when it first came out. It was a dream come true. Everything about this game was amazing to me. I didn't even know about modding until a few years later, at which point I started seriously considering the idea of getting a gaming PC. Last year, I finally got one and looked forward to playing modded Skyrim. I downloaded the Mod Organizer and all the required programs and I learned about them and got a bunch of mods. However, I may have gone overboard and got like 200 mods or so. This caused a lot of problems and it became too much of a headache to sort out, so I gave up.

Skyrim Special Edition is, I figured, a good enough reason to get back into the game and try my hand at modding again. This time around, I thought that I should just use Bethesda's in-house mods instead of messing around with SKSE and all that. I thought that it might be easier for me. And I guess it sort of has been easier. Right now I have about 185 mods, but I've been experiencing crashes and various problems such as sometimes not being able to save, wait, or sleep without CTD. While it is a lot of mods, I know people who have played with many, many more and been fine. At the moment, it seems that the problem I'm having is the game is crashing only two minutes in. I can save, but it CTD regardless. I'm aware that Frostfall causes CTD when quitting to main menu or desktop, but other than that, I do not know what could be causing the CTD during actual gameplay. Additionally, the game CTD when I add or remove mods or change the mod load order. I can't pinpoint why this happens but I think it may be due to having too many mods, but, again, I've seen people play with many more. My mods are at about 5.5 GB currently.

When it works, it's truly awesome. But when it doesn't work, it's such a pain that I don't even want to try anymore. I've got 23 hours logged on Skryim SE and, believe it or not, a good half of those hours has been spent trying to figure out what's causing me problems. Maybe I should go back to MO, but I do like the simplicity of using Bethesda's in-house mod menu.

My PC's specs:
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: GTX 970, Total VRAM: 16.9GB, Available VRAM: 10.6 GB, no overclock
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690 @ 3.50 GHz, no overclock
Motherboard: ASRock H97 Pro4 M80-4C014300140, BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. P1.40, 7/29/2014
RAM: Total: 8 GB, Available: 3.29 GB, no overclock
PSU: Don’t remember
Operating System & Version: Windows 10 build 14393 64bit, clean install
GPU Drivers: GPU 376.09, clean install

Here's my mod list: [I can't post links...?]

I really hope someone can help me out with this. All I want is to experience the Skyrim that I know can be done. This game has always been such a good way to escape from the duties and responsibilities of life for a little while, but now it's become more of a chore to get it working than actually being fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Accidentally double-posted. Go to my other post please. Thanks!
