Help! I let my kids play around with the game a couple of days ago, and they changed some of the keyboard controls (ex: I had changed the controls to use the arrow keys to move around, but they prefer WASD, so they changed it back). While this is typically fine with me, they must have changed the key to access the save menu and settings -- I can no longer access this menu when I press the esc key. Instead, the items menu comes up. I have tried to press every key on the keyboard and all the mouse buttons, trying to figure out what they did, but nothing brings it up.

I tried starting a new character, but the controls are the same. I deleted the local content from Steam and redownloaded it, and the controls are the same. Is there any way to get it back the way it was without actually being able to access the settings screen they have somehow magically disappeared??

the lesson here is dont let the kids play again

if by any chance you can find your Journal witch under normal conditions should be the J button

click it

at the top you will see Quests / General Stats / System

go to system and scroll down to controls

set back to Default and every thing should revert back to normal

if not you are going to have to map every button out one by one ........if you dont remember the correct key vales, this one will be happy to help by posting them here

PS ....are you by any chance using a keyboard that you have mapped out individual keys to be used in the game? ...this may be causing a conflict with the game keys ...delete your key board profile and make it new after you solve the issue

Okay, so I can't figure out how to delete this post, but a friend helped me figure it out. In case anyone else is having this issue, if you can access your quest log (usually set to J, unless your kids changed it...), there's an option at the top for "system", which will allow you to access that menu and change all your settings back.
