Dog was adopted but won't stay home? : V

Hi! I recently found a stray dog in Solstheim and my daughter in Windhelm asked to keep it as a pet. I said yes- however, when I dismiss the dog as a follower, he returns to Solstheim instead of to my child. Anyone know know why it's not recognising my house as his new home?

that would be because your child's pet is a cuddly little FOX & not a dog .....thinks the game reverts back to that value regardless, even if the child asked if they could keep the Dog .....might be a totally different story if you bought the dog (could be wrong)

unlike FO4 where you can nominate where your dismissed companion will finally end up ......in Skyrim all dismissed followers will go back to there original locations.

so its a combination of the above two
