Nettlebane Dagger

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2016 9:03 pm

Is there anything actually particularly special or unique about the Nettlebane Dagger? As i love the design and would love to use it as a main for my character, but i believe it is un-enchantable, right? Could anyone explain if this has any secret effects to it, or is it just as it seems, an average dagger just with a unique design?

Yeah i did read this, but i also read somewhere else (Can't remember which site exactly) that it had a hidden enchantment, hence why you cannot enchant it. Where each succesful hit, granted a recovery in some magicka also. Is there any solid proof of that, or is it just an unfounded rumour?

I have no idea how could one not know this information, given that you can't obtain the dagger without initiating that quest. :P

Afaik there is nothing hidden about the dagger, it's a quest item with a function to remove roots when striking them with it, and that's all it's used for. I'd check in CK but I don't have Skyrim installed, but I'm basically 99% positive it has no magical properties. Besides, if it did UESP would list it too.

I've never heard of it having a hidden enchantment. It's virtually useless outside of they associated quest, unless you just like the way it looks.

Ahh, oh well. Cheers for your input anyway. Feel like this may have been a wasted opportunity to make it more appealing stats wise, to go with its relatively unique design.

No problem. :) Sadly, you'll find that a bunch of unique items in Skyrim leave a lot to be desired.

To me it is a One Use, specific weapon. Ok for early limited use but not praticle. Use for the mission and sell it OR display it on a weapon rack.

Without looking in the CK, I can't confirm, but I'd suspect there is a "null" enchantment on it just as the easy way to prevent another. Since you get it in one quest, and use it in another, enchanting it in between could have broken something - maybe just making it the "wrong item" for the latter use.

I just opened it in the CK. It has no enchantment, but was given the "MagicDisallowEnchanting" keyword.

Generally a flawed design in many games, they bother to make a reskin for a simple fetch quest, they could as well make them more useful so you could use them for a bit longer.
