Stamina!

Stamina!

In the GI article, it mentions the stamina bar, and it also mentions sprint! It's a feature that, imo, is long overdue. I'm glad that fatigue has been renamed, and given a more appropriate title.

Now, what else do you think will use Stamina. Maybe some of the perks we can choose from will be special combat moves, and perhaps they take up quite a bit of stamina to perform?

I'm guessing stamina is the new fatigue and this time actually effects your actions. Sprinting uses stamina, so maybe after sprinting into a large group of enemies and your stamina is low your character does less damage with a sword.

Sprinting will finally provide an active way to pump Athlethics (provided it isn't one of the cut-out skills). It has always been a pain in the @$$ once you're in the level 70-100 range.
As for the rename - a differenet name doesn't really mean anything. It is only logical that you'll use it up for any taxing physical action, as was always the case.

I want stamina to do more than just doing less damage or something like that. I mean, you can't really see that, can you?

I want you to SEE or HEAR that you have low stamina. Add subtle panting sounds, subtle blur when really really low, etc...

I agree.

Panting alone would add a point for immersion. Perhaps when you spring for awhile, and your stamina is drained, then you can only jog. Maybe the PC can even collapse from exhaustion!

Since attributes are most likely done away with, I imagine that your overall stamina will decide your carrying capacity instead of strength.

Then again, that might be a bit odd. I'm curious to know how they're handling carrying capacity...

the real question is, what happens when it reaches 0?

yes ofcourse it will regenerate back etc.

But can we still swing a sword after that? Jump after that? Sprint after that?
All of those we have been able to do in Morrowind and Oblivion.
