I am building my homestead and I can't figure out how to use weapon ranks. I know that when you press a with a weapon equipped it will go on the rack. But how do I set them up in a nice position . Like I want to put two war axes on it and make them crossed

The weapon racks have fixed positions. Some can only support one weapon, and others (the ones with a circle in the middle) can support two, crossed ones. These in which you put two weapons can′t support bows, but they can support shields. It′s advisable to mount the shield first, otherwise the option might be covered by the two weapons. You can take things on and off of it at will.

also, if/when you cannot get the option to take/remove items from the racks, try punching them for a bit. It sounds silly but it actually works.
