I've played about 200 hours on level 48. Early in the game I came across the statue of Merida and she ask me to find her beacon. Ok, no problem. No marker on the map so I figured I will come across it sometime.

Now I think I found all locations and still no beacon. Then the quest disappeared from my journal. Went back to statue and all it allows is to activate beacon which I do not have. but no more quest.

So I did some research. I already know it spawns randomly in a boss chest or another chest. So I tried a console command "setstage da09 1" to see where it is on the map. It sent me to a test cell I think.

I was in a room with a chest that has the beacon and has things floating (not complete). One door that leads to a room that has two giant barrels of blood but now way out. On the map it calls it "testl". And it will not give me my current location on the world map.

So is this a glitch that left the beacon completely out of my game? Is this a location from a quest I have not been given? Does anyone recognize the 2 giant vats of blood?

Or am I just screwed?

The Beacon shows up in random boss crates after lvl 12. Iv always found it before going to the merida statue so donno what happens when u get the quest to find it from Merida herself.

What normally happens is just, that Meridia will tell you that you have to restore her beacon.

Then the quests starts, and you get a marker for the dungeon where the beacon is.

This sounds really suspicious.

If your game is already broken, perhaps you could just put the beacon in your inventory with console-commands. But I've never did that, and also never before heard of that cell.

So please don't blame me, if it makes things worse.

I decided to use the console to get me to the test cell, take the beacon and console out. Gave me the achievement as it was the last artifact I needed.

I hate that I had to use the console. It's cheating. But I had no other option. Next play through I hope it will work as intended.

Cheating is when you give yourself a ton of money or advance your skills to 100 via console. What you did was bugfixing, something different as you're bringing the game in-line with how it was supposed to function.

Didn't even knew, that i can approach to that statute, and Meridia gives such quest. I always just found the beacon, then Meridia told me to restore it. Even as a vampire which is kinda ironic.
