Godrays not working for some dragon meshes [Special Edition]

I have 26 dragon meshes and, for some reason, god rays work perfectly on 24 of them but don't work on the other two (https://s25.postimg.org/7hvaezsan/20161129185609_1.jpg).



Basically they end up with a tractor beam that (1) isn't shaped like the dragon (2) appears both above and below instead of only below (3) is way too dark.



I've messed with all of the flags in BSLightingShaderProperties to no avail. Does anybody know what part of the mesh controls / interacts with god rays?

this might be a question for jon over at nifskope forums. he used to be on their IRC channel, i would question him over stuff.



i had a very strong grasp of all things oldrim in nifskope, i made lots of tutorials, but in SSE i have no idea what's what anymore.



i have my own problems with figuring out what I need to do to get custom collions on my object.s
