A question about Dragons.

Personal impressions:

* I find it very majestic how dragons fly in the air! :)

* The hard thing on fighting a dragon is not the dragon itself... it goes like this:

The dragon lands beneath a mammoth and does his fire-breath on it.

You think: 'I have to protect this peacefully animal'; and shoot an arrow at the dragon.

The giants think: 'He/She is shooting arrows in the direction of my mammoth! I have to kill him/her to protect my animals!'

And then you have to fight a dragon, two mammoth and a giant. Plus some wolves and saber-cats that get mad because a dragon did burn their fur... :(

Why do dragons not pick enemies up like we saw in the gameplay videos of Skyrim before it released in November 2011. I put the date there so anyone curious can go back and look. There is a chance they do pick enemies up still, but I just never see it in my game. There are apparently rare things that happen in Skyrim like a random NPC turning into a werewolf, so I am not saying the AI for dragon's doesn't have them picking enemies up, I just don't recall ever seeing that happen in my game.

Like you did wrote: They still do, just not so often.

If I'm remembering right, with the first or second official update, the dragon-ki was changed.

The dragon from Helgen is the only black dragon like that and is the final boss of the main story that you only encounter 3 times in the game (4 if you include Helgen). The dragons that randomly fly by are definitely not that dragon (alduin).

It has to do with the amount of health the character has left, if the dragon can land and probably random chance... it IS a rare thing.

I had one of my 1st 360 characters die that way... was on a bridge watching the Aurora and not paying much attention... got up to get a drink and turned around just in time to see the dragon swoop and grab, then drop the character mid-flight... Haven't seen it again in 5 yrs worth of play.. She was lvl 35 and it was a "ice type" dragon...It was neat and I would love to see it again.

Interesting. During the Helgen fight, Alduin does pick up one of the guards as we enter the "decision courtyard", but afterwards, it is a very rare thing for me to be witness to.

I'm so jealous! I've had dragons come close to me and I'm staring at their feet, but they have yet to pick me up :(

Alduin the Pick-Up-Artist?

That gives the dragon-cult a complete new meaning...

Oh wow, thanks for the replies, that is crazy. I can't imagine, playing a DiD hardcoe character that you'v progressed pretty far, and your just sitting at less then half health in the middle of a town about to heal, and you just suddenly get picked up by a dragon and die. That would be so worth streaming that, the reaction I would have to that.

The problem would be setting up the exact circumstances... and for the Player Character it seem's to be a very rare thing indeed... I have gotten the "munch and toss" more time's than I care to think of. I've seen a certain Dragon that one can call from another realm, pick a bandit off of a fort.. Same as the Black Dragon does in Helgen, but those are both NPC's... but yeah, that would be a very unique thing to see....and record!

I think I must have some of the worst twitch skills on the planet. I always seem to be putting my character directly in front of Dragons when I fight them. So my characters probably get "munched" a lot more often than players with good eye-hand coordination. It can happen pretty frequently if you are as clumsy as I am. Alduin even "chew toyed" one of my characters in Helgen once. That's how pathetic a player I am. :)

You're just fighting very brave.

Others (like me) simply avoid to do melee-attacks at the head of a dragon. The price of that is, not to see this cool kill-animation where the hero jumps on the head of the dragon.

I can't even believe this, i mean its my luck. I was testing out Zerofrost latest dragon mod (its ridiculous, in the good way), and I mean the scene couldn't have been better, the dragon picked up a mammoth and tossed him. I didn't have bandicam open, so I reloaded the game and tried several times to get the dragon to pick up a enemy, and I eventually gave up.

This is the dragon mod I was using: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/79504/?

Its on Xbox One as well.
