So I have this problem where my game crashes when I click "data files" on the main menu. I am trying to access it so I can enable my mods.

I have not installed a lot, mainly, Morrowind patch, morrowind rebirth, morrowind code patch, and MGEXE.


I have a fairly powerful rig.


Any suggestions to fixes are appreciated, or any help at all.

First of all, did the game work before you installed mods?

Always make sure the game is going to run properly before adding any mods. I recommend taking a "test drive" by going through the entire character creation just to be safe.


Where is your game installed? It's best to move it out of the default location. Many people just use make a simple path, like C:/Bethesda/Morrowind


Do you have the correct version of Direct X installed. (I believe you need 9)


I wouldn't suggest using the Data Files launcher anyways. Instead use the program Wrye Mash to activate and organize your mods: http://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/44386/?


Be sure to read the instructions that came with the Code Patch. It isn't installed or implemented like a standard mod.
