How about you good people? Have you ever plunked down several hundred dollars just to buy a console for one game?
Xbox for Morrowind.
Have some Wii U games but no WiiU
Currently, I have the Xbox One Slim just so that I can play the original Halo games without having to change discs or worry about shoddy backwards compatibility. However, I will be using the console for whatever Xbox 360 games I own that are BC with XB1, especially if my 360 bites the dust eventually.
First, let me say yes. I needed a PS4 for Bloodborne.
But...
The good thing is that I knew I'd be using the PS4 for lots of other games too, so in reality I bought it to play "next gen" games in general.
Bloodborne just guaranteed that I picked Sony over Microsoft.
I've never done that. I always buy a machine with the games in mind, not just one game.
No. I've never bought a console. But if i did, I would never buy it to play just one game.
You should buy a console. If you haven't played Uncharted or the Last of Us, you don't know what you're missing.
Well, I bought a console to play two games. Halo 3 and Oblivion on Xbox 360. Of course I ended up playing many other things on there, as well. Now I'm PC through and through, though.
PC is quite nice.
Paired with a Nintendo or PS4, you can't really go wrong. Nothing against Xbox, just that a lot of the games are multiplatf.
I bought a PS4 basically just for Bloodborne. Although there were a number of exclusives I had an interest in playing on the console, I probably wouldn't have budged if Bloodborne weren't a thing. But it has paid off since my library on the console is expanding steadily with all of these nice games.
I've done this so many times I've lost count .
Nope. The closest I've gotten to that is just buying something for exclusives (like the PS4). Never back in the day though. I enjoyed every bit of those consoles.
I got my XB360 just for Madden. I have since enlarged my library (mainly boardgames), but 95% of its use is for either Madden NFL or NCAA Football
One game doesn't pull me in, but for my PS3 it was essential only for the God of War games and I played the first three Uncharted since they seem to be a OK
The Sega Dreamcast for "House Of The Dead 2".
Of course I was looking forward to playing other games as well and with "Dead Or Alive 2" and "Soul Calibur" who could have needed anything else?
Have an XBox ONE for gaming and online gaming and a PS4 for all the Japanese stuff Microsoft tend to ignore.
This is not really a great gen to gaming unfortunately with Publishers trying to bleed their customers dry and charge them twice for each game or more if they can get it.
I got up, ate my breakfast, travelled to work, did my job until lunch time, had a break and ate my lunch, went back to work, finished my shift, traveled home, ate my supper, went to bed, got up and did it all again.
For a video game back then this was innovative.
However to someone already gainfully employed... it was not entertainment.
