Gamestop won't refund money.

If you try to return the broken Fallout New Vegas to gamestop(unsure about other stores) they won't give you your money back nor will they give you store credit. They will only give you another copy of Fallout: NV which is sure to have the same problems or at least the same high potential to have a problem. Bull****. Also what in the world are people who don't have live(a way to download future patches) supposed to do? They'll never get to play the game appropriately.

Well if you can buy a game and return it when you played it then the store won't make any profit.

Also did you know you can still download the patch without Live? You just need a internet connection.

Theres a big problem with the fact that the game can become ruined and theres nothing you can do about it and you can't even get store credit back which you certainly should. Oh and how would someone go about getting that patch? Putting it on a usb and plugging it in their xbox? What if their xbox doesn't have the dashboard update that even allows them to connect and load files from a usb? This all assuming that even works for patches. Also should someone have to go to these lengths to get a working game? Answer is no.

This. You don't need Xbox Live Gold to get any updates from Xbox Live for the Xbox itself or for patches. There is the Gold membership, which allows you to play any games online whenever you want, and the Silver which, depending on the game I believe, sometimes allows weekend play, but you will still receive updates as long as your 360 is simply plugged into the internet.

You don't need the dashboard update. That's only to allow you to use a USB drive as a memory device.

Seeing as the devs can't be bothered to update us on the corrupt save game/dlc issue and I don't know when I'll be able to play the game I've paid for I'll be returning my copy as faulty software tomorrow. Suggesting we go back to an old save and then saying nothing more when the bug could raise its ugly head again at any time isn't good enough. We're the consumers, we've paid you, you aren't doing us a favour by fixing the product we paid you to supply after the fact.

You may not like store return policies, but your problem isn't Gamestop, Walmart, or Target's fault... they replace defective disks, programming is another issue, and the game isn't so broken that it's totally unplayable, regardless of how bad you think you got it. If the game was in that case it would be recalled and sent back to the publisher, like they did with the PS3 version of the new Shaun White game.

Have patience, keep your old saves and try a new run through the game (had to do that with Fallout 3, was able to finish my playthrough later), and if your save file is corrupt no patch is going to fix that... if it's bugged, it still may not be fixable depending on the bug.
