[RELz] Gravedigger v2.3

Post » Fri Jul 16, 2010 2:30 am

I've finally updated it with a few important bugfixes:
v2.3
-- Fixed a bug that caused combat music to play continually.

-- Improved and optimized scripts.

-- No "clutter" will be saved in the save file.

For those who are not familiar with Gravedigger:
Now you can completely get rid of a corpse immediately without being weighted down with whatever junk was on it! All you have to do is get close enough to a corpse that you would be able to activate it, and hold down the "'" (apostrophe) key until it starts burning, as long as you have an ignition source in inventory (ie torch, candle, etc.) Alternatively, you can cast an on-touch fire damage spell. The corpse and its entire inventory will be removed from your game as soon as it is done burning.
The first time you use this mod, a small setup script will run. This will give you the option of the corpse either burning, or disappearing. You will also be given the choice of the fire leaving ashes behind and the length of time the fire will last.
This mod is dependent upon Morrowind Script Extender (MWSE)

What about morrowind floors littered with burning baddie corpses? Just set the length that the fire lasts high and enjoy the show. :P

Thanks for the update!

I lured all of the Ordinators into Vivec's Palace and massacred them all. Once I was done setting them all ablaze, it seemed like I was standing in fiery furnace. :flamethrower: :flame:

So has this version gotten rid of the matchstick man? How did you implement the changes, if you did get rid of him?

No, the matchstick man is still there. I've seriously changed the method of placement for it though, there will only ever be one matchstick in the world, and it's designed to be entirely removed from the save once its purpose is either served, or another is going to be placed. It is also no longer in combat mode, but rather in AIFollow mode; so you can attack it with a fire spell thus triggering the corpse burning, but not acquire a bounty.

Looks fun. Can you make it so the remains are a burned skeleton and some piles of ashes under and around it ?

could be even better ;P

I love bones...

I have a problem with this mod. When I stand in front of a living NPC and open the console the NPC dissapears completely, it does not come back when I close the console. Haven't tried it on creatures, and also haven't had the possiblility to try it's actual functionality, as I removed it as soon as I discovered this bug.

D'you think he ability to use this mod is likely to be broken on non-American Keyboards?

edit: I have tested it, it seems on a British Keyboard its the # key. Thanks Fliggerty!

I didn't think about that. I may try to chage my keyboard settings to american, and load up the mod again next time I play.

This is necromancy, but I couldn't find a newer post.

I've had a bug occasionally with this mod where if I try to light multiple corpses on fire or if I rapidly press the ' key a few times it tends to crash. This only happens occasionally and I'm not really certain why.

It doesn't handle multiple corpses very well if you are lighting them all at once. Unfortunately I've not found a way to improve the handling of it. As for the key press, it is necessary to let the script run all the way through after pressing the key. It should only take 10-20 frames for that to happen, so seeing any problem with it should be very rare.
