Greatest memory eaters among mods

No open cities is where there's no gates and stuff like that to go through to get into the city. You just literally walk in.

Pseron Wyrd asked because Better Cities is known to impact on FPS, while Open Cities is known (though not by enough people) NOT to impact on FPS any more than the vanilla game does, so Pseron was suggesting that the previous poster was mixing up their "Cities" mods.

What are the hungriest mods, then?

I always thought that texture replacers like QTP (Redimized in my case) affect VRAM, not RAM. Is that so?

They load into both. If the game has loaded a texture, it has to go in the game's address space. The video driver then handles uploading textures into video RAM as they're needed.

For the purpose of the 2GB 32 bit per-process address limit, you can entirely ignore VRAM and pretend it does not exist.

Since the game seems to crash at 1.4 GB in this case, the 2GB limit is not being reached, so likely another cause exists.
