Also I hate dual wielding as well.

LOL! You can just use a single sword then.

You know, the more I think about it, the less I'm wanting RPG to just equal numbers

probably because you are bored of playing D&D variations in most RPGs for th past 25 years.

Some of that seem cool, but some seem like rick roll would have written those.

I'll just scrap all I've heard about Skyrim and I'll see more info in half a year..

With each thing removed from the game it becomes more simplified. I hate simplistic games that focus entirely on killing and fighting. If I wanted to smash everything in sight I'd go play Red Faction.

Yes they have removed things from the games but that doesn't mean a game has got more simplistic. There isn't a direct correlation with less content= more simplistic. This is the flawed logic that makes so many people hate Oblivion when it's a great game in it's own right. In fact, many people say that the game lost 6 skills from Morrowind when actually, enchanting stayed in the game and several weapon skills were consolidated. And the skills that did get removed needed to be removed because they were either imbalanced or unnecessary. Now with Skyrim, 3 more skills are being "removed" even though they are being repurposed back into the game and then entirely new, heavily ingenious customization systems in Skyrim, this game has the most character ability customization since Daggerfall and the most overall character customization of any TES game ever made. So please don't go into the whole "Omg, they removed things from the game so it must have been done to make casual players happy!" when in fact they always replace it with something in return and it never hurt the complexity of the game. It didn't happen that way with Oblivion but all the people that were so outraged that "6" skills were removed from the game they automatically hated Oblivion and didn't even give it a chance.

lets hope they work on those animations too I can't stand how some of the stuff is - they really need to work on that - but i am excited about reading all that - especially killing someone and there family inherits it or dropping weapons and it disappears and there is fights over it..so dynamic and awesome

1 perk for 50 levels more than balances out the probable merger of 3 skills.

i doubt many chars will ever alike at all now. (unlike Oblivion and Morrowind)

Fixed and btw from now on I am going to do this to everyone that singles out Oblivion as if it is is only flawed TES game (Morrowind is a disaster of gameplaythough it has an awesome story).

This game was in major development from 2002 through 2005, the animations in Oblivion are really good for that time period so people need to stop complaining about the animations. Of course they don't stand up to the newer games animations, THEY ARE NEW!!!!

Only if the skills themselves don't get modified at all.

That's incredibly obnoxious.

Pretty much. It also brings up a good point related to D&D.
I just don't think that a video game RPG has to be as reliant on stat tracking and counting numbers as its tabletop pedigree may suggest, the rest of the programming was hidden behind a GUI long ago, why not this?

Dual-wielding: you have two hands now in combat and you can wield anything to both hands. You may assign a dagger on left hand and use a mace with right hand. The choice as they say is yours.

Looking forwards to this-- this is something I wanted AGES ago, and posted in one of the "what you'd like threads" :D I wonder if they'll let you pick a Hand (like Left-/Right-handness?) which will let you be more effective with that hand?

So I know they said they're removing Mysticism, but did they say what the other 2 skills are? And what are these "5 added skills" people are talking about? Also, has there been any mention of spears? I've missed those since Morrowind.

I'm trying to figure out how losing 3 skills overall completely slags the game :bonk:

They are most likely the useless skills as well.

Athletics, Acrobatics and Mercentile.

Well, I'm not going to use dual weild seeing as it will most likley restrict my magic, and I'm also glad there is no multiplayer too.

Oh BTW! This is completely, utterly, and totally my own humble opinion.
