Need help meeting brotherhood of steel for quest wildcard:

Post » Mon Jul 19, 2010 4:40 am

Im doing the quest WildCard: something and I need to meet the brotherhood of steel in a desert area around a fence. I follow the marker and I get to a rock with some ammo (then the marker goes in circles). At night the place is covered in a sandstorm. At night I can see the brotherhood of steel near the fence but they attack me, yet when I look in my logs they are not even listed, let alone a negative rep. There is a bunker but I need 75 lockpicking skill, the other bunker is a dead end. So where do I go? I found a scorpion nest near, but that doesn't help.

If there is where I am supposed to meet the brotherhood of steel, at night, then how do I stop them from attacking me? Im only negative with the Powder Gangs and now the NCR( I have 3 days to fix that apparently) but they are at war with BOS so what gives?

Thanks

You need to go into one of the bunkers, one of them will have the BoS storming out and confronting you, and thus the BoS quests begin.

So I guess that the one's I am encountering are just night patrol and are mad I am in the area at such a time. I must have missed a bunker. I found 2, one with 75 skill to pick, and the other with an easy skill but when it opens there are rocks. Makes sense, I will try it

It should be the 75 one, did you activate the intercom? Because when I did that it initiated the BoS opening the door.

Yes, I hit the intercom. There is silence, then you click 'hello' and more silence. But I 'could' have done that at night, not sure if that matters. I tried both intercoms at both bunkers. pretty much same result except small dialog change

I tried this both day and night. I just get silence on the intercom. I pressed a few times and I get a few dialog changes. the last one is 'I guess i will see my way out'. But nothing happens. This better not be bugged. That would svck-age. Ill have to come back to it.

Did you attempt to "pick-lock" the 75 skill door? Because that could also activate the script.

Yes, but apparently there are at least 3 bunkers. That video posted resolved my issue. That was a bunker I kept missing. Issue resolved. It even mentions in the video at night they attack you. (Y)

Hey, just to clear up some confusion; they won't attack you at night unless you're hostile with them. A patrol wanders around through the dust storm but is neutral with you as default.

Glad the video helped!
